Mr. Smith’s Story Begins With A Takeaway

Updated: Mar 1, 2020

Indie-pop band Mr. Smith are about to drop their new single “Takeaway”. The Worthing based quintet have picked up a large social media audience in recent years and are about to kick of their 2020 campaign.

With a combined Twitter following of over 100,000, news of the new single has been highly anticipated. The band have been re-honing their live performance skills which has seen them top the bill at many of the best venues in the UK, including sharing a stage with Girls Aloud and Level 42 in the same weekend. Their aim this year is to hit the mainstream and prove that they have the songs and the live skills to stay there.

Often likened to Two Door Cinema Club and The Wombats, Mr. Smith take inspiration from The Beatles through to Paramore. That blend of influences makes their music familiar but at the same time contemporary. Lyrically, “Takeaway” is the tale of falling in love but not having the courage to say anything. It’s witty, poignant and relatable. Choppy rhythm guitar and bass take you through the verses into the flowing bridges and up to the anthemic sing-along chorus.

Takeaway is released on 30th March 2020 and the band will be following up with live performances throughout the summer, showcasing more new material before official launch dates.

Release Date:

20th March 2020

Song Title:

Takeaway
